A headstrong oil painter struggles to confront her guilt and grief following the overdose of a best friend, launching her into emotional turmoil as she navigates the meaning of friendship.
FILM SUMMARY: Daffodil is a dramatic narrative that explores the feelings of grief and guilt of Maja after the accidental overdose of her best friend. Her internal struggles are displayed externally as she has trouble keeping up with her friends and loses her passion for painting.
MUSIC: Daffodil was scored intimately, primarily for chamber orchestra, with some synthesizers for a mood and tonality shift near the end of the film. In addition to the score, diegetic music was also created, in this case a classic Chicago house style track for a party scene.
SOUND DESIGN: Daffodil's sound design was focused on environmental sounds for the different rooms and scenes, plus some cinematic style risers for climatic moments.
